Fern Canyon - Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park
If there's an eighth wonder of the world it's this gem. Fern Canyon is located at the bottom of the park near Gold Bluffs State Beach and is accessible by road and a short trail during the summer or a 4.5 mile hike from the top of the park. This box canyon's walls are lined with ferns from the bottom to the top. A small creek meanders through the bottom of the canyon while fallen trees arch across the top allowing rays of sunlight to beam through. Even dinosaurs roamed the canyon in a 90's blockbuster movie sequel partially filmed here.
